Hi I'm KayVee!
Let's just start honest: I'm building this while I still clock in somewhere else for a paycheck. That job is my runway, not my ceiling — and I'm not going to pretend otherwise or dress it up as some grand leap of faith I already made. I haven't landed yet. I'm mid-flight, building the plane and flying it at the same time, and I think pretending I'm not is exactly the kind of thing that keeps people feeling behind when they're really just early.
Why I built this
I watched people I love get taxed for something nobody ever explained to them. Not on a pay stub — quieter than that. The overdraft that snowballed. The opportunity they didn't take because they didn't have the cushion. The decision made from panic instead of information, over and over, until "bad with money" started to feel like a personality trait instead of what it actually was: nobody ever sat them down.
I named that thing Broke Tax, and once I had language for it, I could not unsee it. Not in them. Not in me. So I built the resource I needed when I was the one white-knuckling my way through it.
What I actually believe
Here's where I get a little unpopular: I don't think you're broke because you're careless, and I also don't think the system gets to be the whole story. Both are true. The deck was stacked before you sat down — and the next card is still yours to play. I know that's not the comforting version. The comforting version picks a side. I'm not interested in comforting you into staying stuck.
It may not be your fault. But it's still your move. Say it back to yourself when you need to.
What this actually looks like
No trust fund funding this. No team of people who've never sat with a number they were scared to look at. Just me, nights and weekends and every stolen hour between shifts, building something that doesn't need my rent money to survive so it can eventually not need me to clock in anywhere else at all.
I'm not going to sell you a version of me that's already arrived. I'm still figuring pieces of this out in real time — and I'd rather hand you an honest map mid-build than a polished one I faked.
Encourage. Empower. Enrich. Elevate.
That's the mission, and I mean it for you the same way I mean it for myself. I want to encourage the version of you that's exhausted but still here. I want to enrich what you already half-know so it actually holds when life gets loud. And I want to help you elevate — not just white-knuckle through — because survival was never supposed to be the whole plan.
If you're building something with no blueprint and no one who's done it before to call when it's 11pm and you're spiraling about a bill — I see you. I am you. Let's move.
